A Message from the Instructor
"Hey there! I'm Dr. Jared Cooper. Most folks call me Dr. C. I'm a Physical Therapist who's been helping clients overcome pain and disability for over 25 years.
Cupping is absolutely one of my favorite tools, and I'm super excited about sharing the principles and techniques that have worked for me in my clinical practice.
Cupping is definitely a controversial little tool. Some believe it belongs in the domain of Eastern medicine. While others see it as another massage modality strongly rooted in myofascial science.
Whatever your take on it, you are sure to get a lot out of exploring cupping with me in this mini-course.
In case you were wondering, here's a little more about me...
I am currently a Clinical Instructor at the Center for Massage and Natural Health, an adjunct professor at Southwestern Community College, and a former clinical instructor for the Manual Therapy Osteopathic Fellowship at Morristown Hospital, and for the Seton Hall, Rutgers, and Western Carolina University Doctor of Physical Therapy programs.
My work as an instructor has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The NY Sun, The Chicago Tribune, and on ABC News. I am also a former Physical Therapy practice owner, and the founder of several online continuing education platforms.
My undergraduate degree is from Cornell University, and I earned my doctorate at the University of Southern California.
Currently, I live in a tiny home near the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina with my wife Karen, my son Renly, and our adorable Aussie-doodle Shae."
