What is Yogic Bodywork?
The Sacred Union of Traditional Yoga & Fascia-Informed Bodywork
Yogic Bodywork is a table-based fully clothed bodywork method that integrates traditional Yogic principles and postures with modern fascia-informed bodywork techniques. Using leverage and bodyweight, you will move your client into Yoga-based releasing and lengthening postures, similar to Thai Massage, but updated and enhanced by modern fascial science.
While supporting your client in each releasing and lengthening posture, you will incorporate PNF techniques, touch-based inputs like deep pressure, tapotement, rocking, and trigger point release, and deepening practices like guided visualization, meditation, sound, and breathwork.
Rather than doing all the work yourself, as a Yogic Bodyworker you will coach and cue your client to reach, expand, and lengthen actively, just as one does when performing traditional weight-bearing Yoga. In this way, you will transform your client from a passive recipient who is fully reliant on you to “fix” their problem, into an active participant who is working with you to create the result they desire.
Each Yogic Bodywork session will leave you feeling refreshed and enlivened. This is because each Yogic Bodywork technique is designed for effortless geometry. You will feel as though you too are receiving the work.
As a result, your client will experience the lengthening and strengthening benefits of Yoga, in addition to the relaxing and releasing benefits of massage. They will leave each session feeling physically opened and spiritually awakened, fully conscious of the transformation that you and they have co-created.
